Nathan is an associate at Shift Law. Nathan is an IP lawyer and litigator with a focus on trademarks, copyright, technology and licensing. He has a particular interest in how digital technology has affected traditional intellectual property protections and the legal profession. He frequently advises small businesses on how to protect their intellectual property on the Internet. 

Nathan’s trademark practice includes prosecuting Canadian and U.S. trademark applications and representing clients before the Trademarks Opposition Board. His litigation practice has included acting in trademark and copyright infringement proceedings and actions involving competition and advertising law in the Federal Court of Canada. He also assists clients with commercial contracts involving trademark rights and copyright as well as with website terms of use and privacy policies. 

Nathan completed his B.A. in English and Political Science at McMaster University. He also worked for a digital library in London, England and Toronto before attending Queen's Law School. 

Prior to joining Shift Law, Nathan worked at two other top-rated intellectual property boutiques in Toronto.
